5 Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking

Morning breakfast then set off for the rangers' point where to have a briefing on code of conduct and expectations while chimpanzee trekking. This takes a short time after which we start the trekking into this beautiful forest of Kibale on this 5 Day Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking safari. 

Trekking the chimps is done with a group of experienced and very knowledgeable rangers who take the lead for the entire experience.

Once we get to find the Chimpanzees, its an unbelievable experience being in their presence as they go about their routine, some swinging in the trees where as others down the trees. The one hour we spend with them is very memorable for the rest of our lives. 

We return to the lodge for lunch and then set off for Queen Elizabeth enjoying the scenic view along the way arriving in the evening and check in to our lodge.

On this experience's packed day, We set off so early for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National park. During the game drive you will see Lions, Elephants, Leopard (though a rare sighting), Cape bushbuck, Cape Buffalos, Defassa Waterbucks, Giant Forest Hogs, Uganda Kob among others. 

We finish the game drive of this 5 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking safari mid-morning then we get to have our breakfast after which we set of an early afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel.

This is a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes: George and Edward and you will surely be fascinated by the concentrations of giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles among others.

We then set off for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest; Home of the Mountain Gorilla arriving in the evening for dinner and rest.

After our early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, we will enter the gorilla sanctuary for our adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular on this 5 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Safari.

It’s a dramatic steeply forested landscape that is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Once we locate the point where the Gorillas may have last been the night before, the tracking starts trailing their movement which means the time taken always varies with the Gorilla movements.

Once we locate the gorilla group, we are allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored.

We return to the lodge for rest and lunch with great satisfaction. If time and energy allow, we may take an (optional) community visit and interact with the local community after the gorilla tracking.

With our Participation Certificates and well rested bodies from the Gorilla Trekking, this is our Return day to the City for a hotel or Flight out.

En-route, we stop over at the equator for some experiments and photography. We arrive in the late afternoon with lots of memories and satisfaction.
