5 Days Chimpanzee Trekking & Murchison Falls

We set off early for the morning game drive with high expectations to see lots of animals to include the Giraffes, Lions, Johnston Hartebeests, Buffaloes, Elephants, warthogs, various antelopes, various birds out of the 450 species such as the national bird the Crested crane and with blessing the rare leopard(s).

The game drive takes us for the most of the morning after which we return for rest then lunch as we prepare for the 2nd phase of the day being a ride on the Nile in a boat to the bottom of the falls.

This afternoon boat ride on the Nile is very safe and also gives a special experience of its own as we get to see various animals that come to the water banks most notably the ones to look out for being the Hippos and Nile crocodile for which we have the largest numbers here than no where else. several bird species to.

The ride is highlighted when we get close to the bottom of the falls as we witness from below how the water forces itself through a narrow gorge. Very interesting views for photographs around here.
Returning for dinner and overnight

As we depart from Murchison Falls we drive to the top of the falls to get a special aerial view of the falls and great photo moments as we enjoy the beautiful view of the white water as it squeezes through the gorge.

After which we proceed for Kibaale Forest home of the biggest concentration of Chimpanzees arriving late afternoon. If time allows we have an evening walk to the community then end the day with Dinner.

We have early breakfast then proceed for our chimpanzee trekking experience in the thick evergreen moist Kibaale forest. As it is for Gorilla trekking we assemble for a briefing before we start the trek into the Forest.

Its an exciting trek and also characterized by other animals we may encounter such as Elephants, common monkeys, red colobus, black and white colobus monkeys, duikers, sitatungas, bush pigs, giant forest hogs and many more.

However, the highlight and reason of the trek being the moment we get to the well studied Habituated Chimpanzee communities. These close relatives of ours are a very fascinating item on this day of our safari as we spend time seeing them doing their business without minding our presence, some in the tree tops swinging others on the forest floor.

What an experience this is and a great feeling while at it and there after.

We return for lunch and prepare for an evening walk which may take us to the wetland for chances of seeing some endangered birds and also visit the communities to share rural life experiences and traditional cultural set up.
